Fire Police Unit
Established in December 1976, the Fire Police Unit provides vital support services at emergency scenes, including traffic control, perimeter control, and scene safety.
Based at 9 South Washington Avenue in Centereach, the unit helps protect responders and the public while supporting the effective coordination of emergency operations throughout the district.

Role of Fire Police
Fire Police members assist with traffic direction, road closures, crowd control, and scene protection during fires, motor vehicle accidents, public events, and other emergency incidents. Their work allows firefighters, EMS personnel, and other emergency responders to operate safely and effectively.
